We’re proud to see Girls on the Run recognized in  Forbes for something we already know: the strength of our program begins with our coaches. In a longitudinal study, 100% of participants interviewed had vivid, positive memories of their coaches. They remembered mentors who were kind, encouraging and deeply invested in helping them grow.

Every year, our national organization GOTRI selects volunteers across their 160+ councils to uplift for their fantastic work in their communities. We're beyond excited to announce that this year, TWO Memphians have received this honor: Karen Ullman and Unique Martin! As we celebrate Savannah Miller’s next chapter, we reflect with gratitude on the leadership, heart, and lasting impact she has brought to Girls on the Run Memphis. While we will miss her dearly, we also look ahead with hope and optimism as we begin the search for our next Program Manager.

While my time as Program Manager for GOTR Memphis may be coming to a close, I am so excited for the next chapter and seeing how this organization continues to impact and inspire girls across my second home. This Fall, I will be pursuing a graduate degree with Yale University, but I will carry the lessons I have learned through Girls on the Run with me for a lifetime.
